Registration Desk Hours

Come to the registration table on the second floor, outside the dealer room to pick up your badge, festival bag of goodies including a program and quick reference grid.

Friday 12pm-6pm
Saturday 9am-4pm
Sunday 9am-12pm

Banquet and Keynote: Adam Dreece presents, "The Power of, No, Damnit, I'm Doing This

This will be a catered banquet by the hotel on Saturday evening including a keynote speech.

Note: Banquet tickets can be purchased in combination with the memberships, but is separate from the actual membership cost. Banquet tickets sales deadline TBA.

Blue Pencil Sessions

This is your opportunity to sit down with an industry professional for fifteen minutes, to share you work and receive immediate feedback. Bring three pages of your best work (double-spaced for authors, artwork for artists ). The pro will read (or view) your work and give their input. You may also want to bring your questions about troubles you're having with the piece.

You must have a 2018 Membership to sign up! Sign up will be announced soon. IF spots are still open at the festival, you can sign up for more!

We will do our best to fit everyone with their requested pro, but if it becomes necessary, we may need to use your second choice. Members are allowed to book two blue pencil sessions. Red Pencil Sessions

This is your opportunity to send in your work ahead of time, to then sit down with an industry professional for fifteen minutes, to receive feedback. Once you sign up, you'll then send in your pages by the announced deadline. You may also want to bring your questions about troubles you're having with the piece.

You must have a 2018 Membership to sign up! Sign up will be announced soon. IF spots are still open at the festival, you can sign up for more!

Kaffeeklatches

What's a Kaffeeklatch? It's a chance to sit down with one of our Guests of Honour to have coffee (or tea, or water!) and chat in a more intimate setting. Numbers will be limited to keep the group small. Bring your questions.

Friday Night Group Reading

Come out and here some fantastic authors read from their work! The reading will run from 7:00pm-10:00pmbut you are welcome to come and go as you please, come out and catch your favourite authors and meet some new ones! This is going to be a great event!

New West Writers Group -- How do writers improve their work?

3 hr session in the Boardroom

The answer to the question is many seek constructive feedback from their peers. New West Writers offers an opportunity to hear members talk on the value of joining a writing community, and to observe a critique session.

In addition to the Blue and Red Pencils, this is a chance to get feedback on your writing. Bring along your own work or simply listen. But most of all, you will get a chance to discover if a writing group will work for you?

New West Writers hold a critique session on the third Saturday of the month from 10:30 am in the Gallery at Queens Park. All writing is welcome - poetry, novels, short stories, creative non-fiction and children's stories.
